Shimmer Sarah Peacock!

Wednesday, January 23, 2013
Hello lovely readers! Today I have peacock nail art to show you that was inspired by the gorgeous glitter bomb Shimmer Sarah. Just like Irene, Sarah wanted to be a part of a bright and bold manicure. With it's gold, blue and purple accents within the primarily teal glitter, I decided the peacock stamping would be the perfect way to show it off...

For the base of the manicure I started out with Nicole by OPI What's the Mitch-uation? and lightly sponged the tips with Nicole by OPI Candid Cameron to create a smooth teal to blue gradient. The gradient was pretty subtle, but more pronounced in real life than the photos...

Over the gradient I applied a coat of Shimmer Sarah and then stamped using Essence A Piece of Forever with Bundle Monster plate BM-212. For the centers of each eye in the pattern, I added a dot of Nicole by OPI Back in my Gloria Days...

A closer look at the peacock...

Shimmer Sarah is a mix of primarily different sized teal glitter with some purple, blue and gold mixed in. Formula is similar to the rest of Shimmers that I have tried. One generous coat provides good layering coverage. Glitter distribution is excellent and generally no problems with applying this glitter. This is one coat over the gradient that I showed above. Swatches are with a top coat...
