Nail-aween Challenge Day 3: Bloody Nails

Thursday, October 11, 2012
Day three of the Nail-aween challenge brings us to bloody nails. My attempt at bloody nails last year resulted in something that looked more like they were dipped in strawberry syrup, so this year I was determined to make them look bloody. I used my boyfriend as a deciding factor on whether I succeeded or not and since his one word response upon seeing this was "bloody", so I think I've well. Hope you agree...

For the base of the manicure I used OPI My Very First Knockwurst. It it is my favorite nude to match my skin tone at the moment. For the dark bloody red I thought Zoya Sam was a perfect fit. I first stamped the gradient pattern using Bundle Monster plate BM-301 and Zoya Sam at the base of the nails to create a sort of splatter. Then using a dotting tool and Sam, I added the dripping blood. For this manicure, I skipped the top coat because I liked how the "blood" was raised a bit off the surface and looking as though it dried on there ...

I'd love to know what you think of this! Let me know in the comments below :)
