Select Colors from China Glaze On Safari Collection for Fall 2012

Friday, July 13, 2012
Today I'm excited to show you a few colors from the China Glaze Fall 2012 collection named On Safari. The collection consists of a total of 12 polishes, including creams and glitters. There is just something about fall nail polish colors that I love so much and I can never seem to get enough. Without delaying this any further, I present you these lovely colors...

Exotic Encounters
A green cream with a hint of blue. It is a medium dark and very pigmented. Has kind of a dusty quality to it that I love. The formula is perfect and no problems with application. Removal had to be done carefully as it seemed quite attracted to the cuticles and insistent on turning my fingers green. It did not seem to stain though, which is great. Two coats for full, even coverage. Swatches are with no top coat as it is quite shiny as it is...

Prey Tell
A dark berry jelly. This is certainly not a unique color and I have similar ones in my collection, but there is a reason for that. I tend to gravitate toward this type of polish all fall and winter long. Okay, who am I kidding, I could wear this year round. The formula is great, only two coats for full coverage and no bald spots. Swatches are with a top coat...

Adventure Red-y
A darkened raspberry red cream. It is slightly deeper in real life that what appears on my monitor. Again, not a unique color, but it has one advantage over the competitors. The formula is so smooth and extremely pigmented, it provides full coverage in one coat. I didn't even know what to do with myself. I was going to apply a second coat just out of habit, but that would really be a waste, so I topped it off with a topcoat instead and called it done. Definitely putting this on my "in a hurry and need something quick" list.

Desert Sun
A caramel creme. Looks like I dipped my fingers in caramel. Yummy. Application was good as with all the polishes so far. This somehow reminds me of wool jackets. Although I don't think that is appropriate attire for the desert. The polish dries slightly darker than the bottle color. No top coat was used for the swatches as it is quite shiny by itself...

I Herd That
A dense gold glitter. It is made up of small gold, copper, and some holographic particles. It covers in two coats, however, I used three coats just to make sure there were no bald spots in photos. Those seem to always sneak up on me. It dries with a grainy texture and needs a few coats of top coat to get a smooth finish. This glitter is simply perfection. I'm quite content on wearing this for a while...

If you thought the polish is pretty indoors, you should see it outside. It is very, very sparkly and the holo glitter really comes out to play...
