Pipe Dream Polish Eternal Summer Slacking

Wednesday, November 6, 2013
Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you my manicure with the beautiful Pipe Dream Polish Eternal Summer Slacking. It is another wonderful handmade creation by April, the mastermind behind the lacquer. The fun mix of colors in this polish quickly perked up my mood and gave me a bit of a summer flash back. Forget the gray and rainy weather outside, I'm going to be doing some Eternal Summer Slacking...

For this manicure I used three coats of Pipe Dream Polish Eternal Summer Slacking. A beautiful milky white base packed with yellow, teal and gray glitter. I can't get over how pretty it is! It applies easily with great glitter distribution in each brush stroke. No fishing for glitter. I used two coats of top coat since it dries a bit bumpy with all that glitter. I just love this happy color combination...

On the accent nail, I willed the glitter to arrange itself in pretty floral patterns, but when that didn't work, I went to plan B. I used a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls which is a creamy white with the slightest hint of gray, but it matches Eternal Summer Slacking (ESS) perfectly. I then picked out glitter from ESS and arranged it in the flower patterns. It looked kind of empty with just flowers on a white background, so I filled in the space around the flowers with a bit of ESS, giving it that speckled look. I used a small brush to pick up just the base of ESS with micro glitter, leaving the larger glitter behind...

Giveaway Scavenger Hunt...

Tuesday, November 5, 2013
Last month I shared with you the exciting news that I had been chosen as a winner in Bundle Monster's Create Your Own Contest. My prize was six full stamping plate sets, one for each design chosen. Obviously I don't need so many! I have shared a few of them with my friends and now I've got a few to share with you...

Rather than do a typical giveaway, I thought it would be fun to do a scavenger hunt! I hope you will play along with me and have some fun in the process. I have stamped this little Bundle Monster guy on one of my nails and hidden a photo of that stamped nail throughout my blog posts...

Your challenge is to find that image, fill out the raffelcopter below and tell me where you found it! There are 12 of them hidden throughout the blog. For every image found you get a point in the giveaway! They are in no particular order so don't worry about matching #s to images. A few extra points for sharing as well! This is open internationally and will run until November 29th 2013!

P.S. I don't do giveaways often so hopefully this makes sense. Let me know if you have any questions! Good Luck! :)

OMG Nail Strips - Blue Bubbles

Monday, November 4, 2013
Hi Everyone! Today I would like to show you some pretty OMG Nail Strips in a pattern called Blue Bubbles. I tried their Viper strips before and loved them so I was very excited to try another pattern. This bubble pattern is so adorable, makes me wish it was summer outside and I could go blow some bubbles...

In the package, the strips are exposed to air so unlike a lot of nail polish strips, these do not dry out. They are made out of real nail polish and easily remove with acetone. I just love that they don't dry out when exposed to air as so many other strips do. I can easily keep the leftovers for a later accent. The strips are quite stretchy and easy to apply. They don't tear easily and can be gently peeled back to re-position or eliminate bubbles...

Each package of OMG Nail Strips comes with 14 nail strips in various sizes. They are single ended, meaning that only one of the ends is rounded to fit the cuticle curve. The other end would have to be cut to fit if you wanted to use it. They apply similarly to other nail polish strips. Full directions are included on the back of the package. Unlike other strips though, these are finished with a top coat which seems to melt them slightly for a really smooth finish...

Rather than filing off at the tips as the instructions suggest, I melted them off with a q-tip and acetone to avoid the stark filed look. You can see how I do this here. The only mistake I made when applying these strips is that on a few nails I used strips that were too large and instead of cutting them to the correct size first, I decided I would just clean up with acetone. This created a bit of a mess as the polish melted, but a sticky glue residue was left behind to drive me crazy. I would definitely recommend cutting them first if you need to use strips which are too large for your nails...

What do you think of these?
